Ticket typePrice
Adult, one way, STANDARD bunk (non-aircon), ticket price₱1,391

₱1,391 is the ticket price Lite's booking site shows for one adult, one way, in STANDARD (bunk, no air-conditioning), in both directions. Standard Premium and Tourist are also sold; their prices are not given here. The site shows the base ticket price: port terminal fees and its non-refundable service fee are not itemised, and the booking site sometimes reports no Standard slots left for a sailing. Lite's FAQ lists free travel for children up to 2, 50% off for ages 3 to 11, 15% off for students and 20% for seniors with ID. Rebooking costs 5% of the fare before departure and 10% after. Vehicle rates are not published. All fares in Philippine pesos (PHP).

Lite Ferries, run by Lite Shipping Corporation, connects the Port of Jagna in Bohol with Cagayan de Oro on Mindanao. Its schedule page lists one sailing in each direction per day. From Jagna the boat goes at 22:00 every night and is timed at six hours, so it pulls into Cagayan de Oro around 04:00. The return from Cagayan de Oro also leaves at 22:00 from Monday to Saturday but takes seven hours, reaching Jagna at 05:00. Sunday is different on the Mindanao side: the only departure from Cagayan de Oro is at 10:00, arriving in Jagna at 17:00, the only crossing of the week that is not an overnight one.

Two ships listed as cargo-passenger vessels, Lite Ferry 5 and Lite Ferry Nine, share the work. Lite's booking site sells three accommodation types on them, STANDARD, Standard Premium and Tourist. A STANDARD ticket, a bunk without air-conditioning, is shown at ₱1,391 for one adult one way in either direction. That is the ticket price only: the site does not break down port fees, and its service fee cannot be refunded. On some nights the booking site already shows no Standard slots left, so a place in that class is never guaranteed.

Tickets are sold online and at Lite ticket offices and booths near the ports. If you book online, print the e-ticket and change it for an official ticket at the booking office; on the day of travel, do this at least an hour before departure. Bring a valid ID with your name on it, and the OSCA ID if you claim the senior discount. Boarding gates shut 30 minutes before sailing and late passengers are refused, which is why Lite suggests arriving an hour early.

Children up to 2 ride free and those aged 3 to 11 pay half. Students get 15% off and seniors 20%. Changing your date costs 5% of the fare before departure and 10% after it. To take a car or motorbike, bring its original receipt and certificate of registration, or the sales invoice or conduction sticker of a new vehicle; Lite does not publish vehicle fares.

  • Arrive at the port well before departure; some shipping lines ask passengers to check in up to two hours ahead.
  • Check the shipping line's advisories on the day — typhoons and storm warnings can cancel or delay trips.
  • Check baggage limits and pet rules before you travel; excess baggage is charged by weight and pets need permits and a cage.
